Award - winning North West theatre company TilThisNight bring new show The Orange Peel to Waterside27/4/2019
Liverpool-based theatre company, TilThisNight prepare for their first professional production this Easter, after Stephen Fry stepped on board to help support the company’s work. Their new play, The Orange Peel, comes to Waterside in Sale, Trafford after their debut production was nominated for the Brighton Fringe Festival Best Newcomer Award. The Orange Peel is an unapologetic and intense new drama following a dinner party of two siblings and their partners. As the couples uncover divisions of class, identity and power, the evening descends into chaos in a dark exploration of whether blood really is thicker than water. "Stephen has known about our work for some time, but his support has really helped to get The Orange Peel commissioned. After 10 years of producing fringe theatre, and doing our bit to champion Northern and working-class voices, it’s fantastic to finally have a professional production staged in Greater Manchester" ’ says the play’s writer, Karl Falconer The Orange Peel has already been picked up by the Drayton Arms theatre in London and is part of the debut season of the new Local Theatre in Sheffield. It promises to be a popular and provocative evening, after their work was recently nominated for a National Lottery Award. The company is going from strength to strength, and has built an impressive track record in supporting and championing undiscovered local talent. Alumni have gone on to star as part of the Liverpool Everyman Rep Company, at Contact Theatre and across the BBC. "The Orange Peel showcases some of the best performers we’ve worked with" adds Karl.
